ENG 305 The Modern Novel

For hundreds of years, novels have played an important role in representing the diversity and complexity of modern civilization. In our dynamic and global contemporary world, the power of the novel to bring together different voices is more important than ever. In this course, students will read, analyze, and discuss representative novels from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries by authors such as Laura Esquivel, Khaled Hosseini, Kurt Vonnegut, and Toni Morrison.
